Putin’s spokesman: Russia can punish states joining EU sanctions

MOSCOW, Jul 30 (PRIME) -- Russia follows the principle of mutuality in the issue of sanctions and can reciprocate steps of the countries that have joined the anti-Moscow punishment recently, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters Thursday.

Late on Wednesday, Montenegro, Albania, Island, Lichtenstein, Norway and Ukraine adopted laws to join the E.U. sanctions against Russia.

“We repeat once again that naturally, the principle of mutuality is the basis,” Peskov said.
